Preparing for more Online classes - Thread Sketching and Thread Sketching with Appliqué.

There’s something especially exciting about the moments before a class begins. The planning, the prepping, the creative buzz in the air. It all feels like the calm before a joyful stitching storm. Right now, I’m deep in the process of getting everything ready for my Appliqué Thread Sketching class, and I wanted to share a little peek behind the scenes.

My worktable has officially turned into a happy hub of creativity. Ornaments are lined up on my design board, each one a tiny labor of love, showcasing whimsical stitching, playful details, and lots of personality. These little pieces are more than decorations, they’re examples of what’s possible when fabric and thread come together with intention and imagination.

One of my favorite parts of preparation is creating and refining the templates students will use. From simple holiday shapes to charming characters, each design is thoughtfully crafted to help build confidence and skill.

I love watching fabric transform as thread sketching brings it to life — adding dimension, motion, and expression with every stitch.
